Alex Bingham

altMy name is Alexandra, Alex for short, I attend Burnside City UC and I would say I'm an eclectic, sociable, creative person with a can-do attitude. I was originally born in Queensland and moved to South Australia in 2000 and now regard Adelaide as my home. I love to express myself through creative means such as music, film, dancing and photography and then sharing these gifts and knowledge with others. I'm a strong believer in making your passion your career and hence am currently studying media, filmmaking and photography at university. I have a strong passion for God and an interest in the vision he has for young adults and youth in Australia. Having recently entered my 21st year of life I would no longer consider myself a teenager or youth, but more a young adult. It is for this reason I am passionate about a Young Adult ministry in South Australia that would promote out-ward focused ministry relevant to people of or around my age.

Josh Baldwin

alt

My name is Joshua Baldwin, I'm 20 year old and I worship and serve at Parafield Gardens UC. I work at a hotel in town to 'put the bread on the table'. I serve on the leadership team at my local church and have given leadership at KCO and SAYCO over the past three years. I am extremely excited to be a part of the Young Adults team, I hope to be able to create a space where passionate young adults can gather together and make a different for the kingdom. Oh and this year I guess I am pretty excited to be marrying my best friend and the love of my life, Sarah Keelan!

Mitch Winkel-Davis

Mitch_Winkel-DavisMy name's Mitch Winkel-Davis and I attend Aberfoyle UC where I'm a youth group leader. I'm nearly 21, and I work in a high school as a Christian Pastoral Support Worker (AKA Chaplain!) In my spare time I'm also a web designer and have nearly completed a theology degree at Tabor. I've just started on the YA team and I'm super excited to see it take off! I'm passionate about building communities and supporting people. A Fun fact about myself: As a kid, I ate a whole jar of vegemite in one sitting!

Will Hall

2011Will_Hall

In 2003, Will Hall left his acting career to oversee the Youth and Young Adult Ministries at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, spending 5 years establishing leaders and building a youth ministry - from zero to flourishing. Alongside this work, Will also took up the role of a college chaplain and carer for children and youth under guardianship. Through his various roles, Will has developed a well-established understanding of the importance of one-to-one rapport with young people as well as an intuitive awareness of cultural trends and shifts.

Will started his new role in late January 2011, bouncing into the team with tenacity and optimism for the road ahead.

Will's core desire is to 'bring hope and justice to a world that desperately needs it' through a passion to join with God in His restoration of all things. This mandate finds Will completely given over to an unconditional love revolution. Will is greatly supported by his wife Nikki, "an amazing woman who constantly surprises and reminds me of what's really important; love and relationships."

In his new role in the MRN, he will be supporting, encouraging and equipping the youth and young adults across SA.

Katrina Levi

2011Katrina_LeviIn 2007, Katrina served in the MRN centre called Out of the Valley which successfully resourced and equipped youth in South Australia. Katrina provided leadership, administration support and event management skills to the Out of the Valley conferences, as well as youth events (Raw Edge), youth worship nights (Live Life Loud) and youth pastor networking gatherings. She expanded her skill base and developed her leadership by co-leading the Hope Valley youth ministry in 2010.

In January this year, Katrina joined the Youth and Young Adults Team within Uniting Church SA as the Youth and Young Adult Administrator. Her role includes communications, administration support and resourcing young people around the state.

Events

NCYC or National Christian Youth Convention is an event of the National Uniting Church that is held every Two Years

NCYC delegates experience intentional Christian community, creative worship, and challenging and informative electives and bible studies. They also get the chance to let their hair down with all sorts of fun activities and entertainment. People of different cultural backgrounds, as well as from different denominations learn about each other and celebrate what they all have in common: the willingness to learn about and share in the life and work of God in the world.

NCYC is more than just a week away in January. Delegates return home to their congregations eager to respond to what they have experienced and see God's will carried out in the church and the wider community. New perspectives and fellowship with other young Christians often gives the young person the motivation to instigate something different in their community based on what NCYC has taught challenged or inspired them to do!
