Many people wonder why we have an opportunity to give (an offering) at KCO. Giving is an important part of being a Christian. We give regularly and generously as an act of worship to God. It is our response to God for His love and generosity to, and with, all of us. We believe that God is the greatest giver of all! He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we could fully experience His love. Our giving also meets the needs of others by offering financial care and support. We hope and pray that as you consider this offering (act of giving) you will always know God's love in your life. KCO 2011 OfferingThis year the campers chose three projetcs for their offering to be donated to; the Uniting Churhc's New Zealand Earthquake Appeal, the Uniting Churhc's Japan Quake and Tsunami Appeal and the Close the Door on Sex Trafficking and Child Labour in North-East India Appeal. KCO 2010 OfferingThis year the campers chose three projects for their offering to be donated to; UnitingCare in Salisbury, UnitingCare Mt Gamier and Flora Manswan's Prosthetic Leg (2 year old from Numfor in Papua, she was born withour a complete left leg). KCO 2009 OfferingThis year, we are encouraging groups to choose something from the Everything in Common, Uniting International Mission 2008 gift catalogue. Your group coordinator has a copy of the catalogue or you can check it out online at http://www.everythingincommon.com.au/. KCO 2008 OfferingThis year, the KCO Committee has decided that the Offering will be distributed to the "Jordan School in Zambia". See brochure KCO 2007 OfferingIn a year when we were ironically washed out, children and other KCO participants still gave generously! $2255.25 was donated to the Drought Appeal. Thank you everyone! KCO 2006 OfferingThe KCO 2006 Offering was over $6,000! It's awesome to think that children can make a difference by bringing $2 or so in their Offering envelope to KCO. A little can make such a difference! The offering was divided 3 ways:
Children in remote areasThis was the second year of contributing towards ministry with children in remote areas. The money will go towards ministry with indigenous kids, through UAICC (Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress). From the combination of last year's offering, this year's and a donation from Red Dove Café, there is around $4500 that will go to this ministry. 6 children and 2 leaders from the Anangu lands; and 2 boys from Copley and 3 from Hawker were able to attend KCO 2006 due to this financial support. |
